Up until secondary school I wasn’t really into sport or fitness, I was more focused on my studies and computer games. This inactive lifestyle led me to become overweight. When I reached secondary school my tutor persuaded me to get involved in the rugby team where I found my achilles heel. My enjoyment for the game inspired me to improve my fitness so that I could perform better. I started my own fitness journey, educating myself on how to become stronger, fitter and a better athlete. At 15 I played district level rugby, represented the county and was also selected to play for the south west of England. I then got chosen to become part of the Gloucester rugby academy to better my skills. Unfortunately, my rugby didn’t lead to a professional career but my passion for fitness and training continued. This inspired me to pursue a career in sports science.

Combining a regular exercise regime with a balanced and controlled diet will ensure that the weight you lose will be from a reduction in body fat percentage. A good personal trainer will ensure that you perform exercises correctly, that is to say safely and to maximum effect. When performing exercises, form is all important.

Like a lot of people I first got into fitness because I wanted to become a better version of myself and also improve my overall health and fitness.  The first step was to join a gym, but like many people who join a gym I didn’t really know what I was doing when I started. I knew I wanted to change, but had no idea how to go about it.  After a few months of hitting the gym and doing the same routine I really wasn’t seeing much of a change.  It was at this point I made the decision to use a personal trainer.  This is where Dave comes in.  I had been a client of Dave’s for about 3 years, and in this time he educated me in training, nutrition, mobility and postural correction. Not only has my physique changed dramatically, my posture has improved and my overall level of fitness has increased immensely.

This brings me onto why I became a Personal Trainer.  I had, for some time, been looking to change careers, but I had no idea what to do, and I didn’t want to change for the sake of it. I wanted to have a job I could be passionate about and one in which I could help others.  Now anyone who knows me will tell you how much I’m passionate about training, some even say I’m obsessed.  Then one PT session I was talking to Dave about wanting to change jobs and he suggested becoming a Personal Trainer.  I hadn’t even thought about it until then, but it made perfect sense!  And here I am now a level 3 qualified personal trainer…..and I’m loving every minute! It is incredibly rewarding using my knowledge and experience to help people achieve their fitness goals.
